What is CBD? CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in the flower of the hemp plant. CBD is safe and non-addictive. It is not intoxicating, and so can be added to your everyday routine without experiencing a high. CBD oil gets you healthy, not high.

How does CBD work? Scientists discovered the endocannabinoid system in the late 1980’s. We all have CBD receptors and this system helps to maintain balance in a lot of the processes in our body. Our CB1 receptors are mostly found in our central and peripheral nervous system, so think balancing of moods, stress, appetite, discomfort, swelling, and poor sleep. CB2 receptors are found throughout the body, but mainly in the immune system. Who doesn’t want balance in their immune system?

What to look for in a CBD product: Less is more. Look at the label- the less ingredients the better. Your CBD products do not need to be diluted with water, vitamins, essential oils etc.

Check for third party testing to ensure your product is free from heavy metals, pesticides, and solvents.

Where is the hemp grown? Imported hemp may contain heavy metals because it has been grown in fields laden with heavy metals. Look for U.S., organically grown hemp.

What is the extraction process? CO2 process is the safest extraction process, and poses the least amount of risk for contamination of the CBD product.
